I have to admit I was once someone who only went to the doctor when I felt very ill. As I became older, I realized that I needed to take better care of myself and begin having regular check-ups. Since I hadn't been to the doctor when I wasn't severely ill in quite a while, my doctor recommended blood work as a first step in making sure I was in good health. Although everything else turned out fine on my blood-work results, I learned I had an underactive thyroid gland. I was prescribed a medication treat the problem, and I learned that my chronic low energy was not just a part of life, but a true medical problem. I created this blog to remind others that regular check-ups at the doctor are important. You may have a medical problem that has few symptoms, like me!
